About Kanchan Bhaskar

International Best-Selling Author of Leaving and Thrive. Transformational Life Coach and Mentor. Advocate and Guide for women rebuilding life after toxic relationships.

My work is devoted to supporting women as they move from survival toward clarity, confidence, stability, and inner freedom—not through quick solutions, but through deep, lasting transformation.

The Heart of My Work

I support women who have lived through emotionally painful or toxic relationships and now feel ready to rebuild their lives with steadiness, self-trust, and conscious choice.

Many of the women I work with are strong, capable, and responsible—yet quietly carrying self-doubt, emotional exhaustion, loss of identity, uncertainty about the future, and the fear of repeating old patterns.

My role is not to rescue or advise from a distance. It is to walk beside them as they rediscover their own strength, their voice, and a new direction for their life.

Why this work is personal

My understanding of this journey does not come only from theory or concepts. It comes from my personal experience.

I, too, lived through a deeply painful marriage and faced the difficult path of rebuilding life for myself and my children after escaping. The journey did not end at the door. The real battle began after I left.

There was trauma, financial pressure, loneliness, and the constant whisper of, Can I really do this? Over time, I rebuilt—from fear to courage, from silence to using my voice, from instability to a life rooted in dignity, freedom, and self-trust.

That journey required reclaiming self-esteem, rebuilding emotional and financial stability, learning to trust myself again, and creating a life that no longer depended on survival.

That lived path became the foundation of my books, Leaving: How I Set Myself Free from an Abusive Marriage and Thrive: Change Your Story, Change Your Life, and it now informs the way I support others: with compassion, patience, structure, and deep respect for each woman’s pace.

My mission is to help you:

— Recover from pain

— Reclaim who you are

— Rebuild your inner and outer stability

— And rise into a life that feels truly yours

Professional Foundation

Before becoming an author and coach, I spent decades in human resources and leadership roles, working closely with diverse people, behaviors, growth patterns, and transformation inside organizations.

Alongside lived experience, my work is grounded in:

  • International best-selling authorship of Leaving and Thrive

  • Formal master’s degree in social work and human development

  • Postgraduate studies in personnel management and industrial relations

  • Certified business and life coaching practice

  • Over 30 years of leadership, people development, and coaching as well as mentoring experience across India and the United States

  • Years of supporting women in adversity across different cultures and life stages

My understanding of human dynamics was shaped not only through professional leadership, but through early work at the grassroots level. During my social work training, I spent time in slums, red-light areas, remote villages, and psychiatric settings. Those experiences deepened my grounding, widened my compassion, and taught me never to judge a life without understanding the circumstances behind it. I witnessed what poverty can do to dignity, ambition, and opportunity—and how much resilience people carry simply to survive.

This integration of life experience and structured coaching allows my work to be both emotionally attuned and professionally sound. You are not only receiving empathy—you are receiving a clear framework, a tested roadmap, and support from someone who understands both the inner world of abuse and the disciplined work of transformation.

Kirkus Review: Thrive marks Bhaskar’s evolution from memoirist to thought leader, positioning her voice at the intersection of trauma recovery, personal transformation, and women’s empowerment.”

You're not just getting inspiration. You're getting a tested framework, a clear roadmap, and a guide who has walked the path.

The Woman Behind the Work

Beyond the titles and roles, I am a mother, an immigrant, a lover of music, a voracious reader, and someone who feels deeply nourished by nature, people, and quiet reflection.

I have always been fascinated by creation, human behavior, and the many ways people live, relate, and carry their stories. This has taken me to travel various geographies across borders. Music keeps me connected to my soul. Nature grounds me. Trees make me still. A physical book in my hand still feels like one of life’s great pleasures.

I also care deeply about meaningful connection across generations, including spending time with and working with seniors, whose wisdom and life experience I deeply value.

Most of all, I remain deeply hopeful about the human capacity to heal, transform, and begin again

You are not broken.

You are becoming.
